Make Him Wait...

Back in January 2018 I made the annual trip to Nashville for corporate meetings. During the three day presentation, we were introduced to the new songs that were to be released this year. It was a treat to hear music from new and established artists that we hear on KTEX. It seemed like we heard from everyone! Garth, Dustin Lynch, Jason Aldean, Sugarland, Midland, and so many others.

Among the different presentations, which ran all day long - from 8am to 11pm - with quick breaks for lunch and bathroom...we were introduced to Jimmie Allen and Everette who you are now hearing on the radio...and a young lady that you will soon hear more from as well.

Her name is Abby Anderson. For some reason, she stood out for me during the meetings. When she was introduced, she came out smiling, confident, and care-free. She took her place front & center stage and proceeded to play. At the turning point of her performance, she was suppose to play a song on her piano. She sat down and the piano was not plugged in to that we could all hear...She looked around and without missing a beat, told us that her keyboard was not working and asked her guitar player to strum along...She nailed it! She could have easily just stopped everything while the audio technicians figured out the problem, show could've cried, or even run off stage - but she didn't - she improvised - she kept the show going...like a true veteran would do.

I ran into her again, during the ACM Awards in April in Las Vegas. We had dinner at an Italian restaurant then enjoyed some hang time in her suite with other radio friends as she performed for us. She is so bubbly, friendly, outgoing, and seems genuine. She's one of those that you can invite over to your house & she'd help make the pico de gallo.

Take a look at her video to her song MAKE HIM WAIT...Being a dad, the words touched me the first time I heard it and it has been a favorite of mine ever since...It's about making the guy wait. Don't let him get too ahead of himself or "the game." Take your time, get to know each other - make sure it is right. I hope you enjoy this song as much as I do.

If that is the case, please feel free to share it with a friend who can use it. :)
