I am so anxious! Football season and I have been apart for too long! I was thinking about this, earlier...if football season lasted the entire year, would I get bored of it? Eh....I don't ever want to think about being bored of football.
As of this writing, the Dallas Cowboys will play pre-season game 3 on Sunday. Although it is "just pre-season" it is dress rehearsal week. But, with two of your starting linemen out - one indefinitely, there is no way you want to send your superstar quarterback and running back onto the field. I guess we'll have to wait for week 1 against Carolina.
When it comes to college football, my favorite to watch is Texas A&M - has been, since 1982. I remember, I kept a different Aggie shirt for every day of the week. They were always my team. I also love to watch TCU, Georgia, Florida State, and Oregon. I know, it's a wide range of teams. Like most football fans, I also have teams I don't care for...Ohio State, Alabama, LSU, and most schools in the Northeast...lol.
As an avid follower of football in the RGV, I also enjoy the Friday night lights! I grew up in La Feria and my Lions always make me proud. This football season, I will once again serve as the public address announcer for La Feria. It is always difficult to be the PA guy and be impartial - when you grew up there and tend to root for the home team. I look forward to the challenge.
If you are a football fan - whether you are a rabid fan that yells at the tv each weekend, or can miss a play or two while you go & chat with friends.....or like me...I have to be alone - in my room, with no one else around - quiet as can be...enjoy the season - root for your team - be a good sportsman, and most of all, enjoy the game and understand that those playing and officiating are humn, just like you and I....we all make mistakes.
