Luke Combs covered a soulful single by Georgia-born singer-songwriter Teddy Swims, and now, some social media commenters want a collaboration.
Combs posted a video of his rendition of “Lose Control” on Tuesday evening (June 3). Swims released the powerful ballad in 2023 on his 10-track pop record, I’ve Tried Everything but Therapy (Part 1). Swims replied to Combs with comments on Instagram, writing “Ayyyyyy” and “Go !!!” Other commenters — including fellow artists Kane Brown, Mitchell Tenpenny, Dan + Shay’s Dan Smyers and more — applauded the performance. Some commenters requested a full cover from Combs, and some hoped for a collaboration between the two artists (one TikToker even suggested a collaboration between Combs, Swims and Chris Stapleton).
Combs hasn't announced a collaboration in the works; however, he recently posted an update for fans amid a break from tour dates to spend time with his family. He and his wife, Nicole Combs, share two young sons, Tex Lawrence Combs, who turns 3 this month, and Beau Lee Combs, who turns 2 in August. Combs confirmed in that update that he was “back in the studio.” He “will be doing a headline tour next year and I am actively working on new music.”
