Who Is Faxing Keith Urban?

Keith Urban totes 15 ACM Award wins and is no stranger to the ACM Awards stage, but this year will be the country singer’s first time hosting the event.

In a recent interview with CMT Radio’s Cody Alan, Keith revealed one of his most memorable moments from an ACM win.

The year was 2000, and Keith was the reigning ACM New Artist.

“I remember getting back to my hotel. That year they did it in Los Angeles. The ACMS were in Los Angeles that year instead of Vegas. I got back to my hotel and under the door was a fax, which tells you it was 2000, I picked it up, and it was a fax from Glen Campbell congratulating me,” says Keith. “I had never met Glen, and it was just a shock to have somebody like him acknowledging me. So, I still got that. Luckily it hasn’t faded, which is really cool.”

Recently Keith had a full-circle moment and was able to shock Riley Green, and Tenille Townes with their ACM New Artist wins.

“They were pretty blown away,” remarks Keith. “It’s the best feeling when you get to call somebody and tell them that they have won anything. You know? Especially right now, a little bit of good news being able to share that. It was really fun.”
