The Chicks Return With First Album In 14 Years

The Chicks, formerly known as the Dixie Chicks, have just released their first album in 14 years, Gaslighter.

The 13-track project features previously released songs including "Julianna Calm Down," "March March," "Sleep At Night" and the album's title track.

The album release comes just about a month after the group decided to drop "Dixie" from their name. At the time the trio, consisting of Natalie Maines, Emily Strayer and Martie Maguire, explained that the decision was made in light of the recent protests against police brutality and racial inequality, as well as the ongoing conversation about Confederate symbols.

In addition to the new album, The Chicks also released a new video for one of their songs called "Sleep At Night." The song, written by Maguire, Maine, and Strayer with Teddy Geiger and Justin Tranter, looks at the pain and anger that comes with heartbreaking news.

"How do you sleep at night? / How do you tell those lies?" they sing in the chorus. "Lookin’ me in the eye / Livin’ a double life."

Check out the new "Sleep At Night" video and the full Gaslighter album track listing below.
