Sam Hunt Performs His New Single 'Hard To Forget' On 'The Late Show'

Sam Hunt performed an at-home rendition of his latest hit, "Hard To Forget" on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Monday (April 13).

"Hey everybody, my band couldn't join me this evening, so I'm gonna try to make it through here at the studio. This is our new song, it's called 'Hard To Forget,'" Hunt says in the clip.

Backed by the track, the country star then started strumming his guitar and singing to the upbeat tune. The full performance can be seen in the video below.

"Hard To Forget" opens up with a nod to Country Music Hall of Famer, Webb Pierce with his 1953 hit, "There Stands The Glass." As Pierce's song slowly fades away, Hunt's vocals begin. The lyrics find Hunt singing about life after a breakup and the struggle to forget his ex.

"So much for so long, outta sight, outta mind / Girl, you’re lookin’ so good, it’s drivin’ me outta mine / Aw, you’re breaking my heart / Baby, you’re playing hard to forget," Hunt sings.

"Hard To Forget" follows up Hunt's chart-topping single, "Kinfolks." Both songs are featured on the country singer's new album, Southside, released on April 3. Southside is Hunt's first album since his 2014 debut, Montevallo.

This summer, Hunt will celebrate the new album with his "Southside Summer Tour." Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the tour has been postponed to a July 10 start date. A full list of new cities and dates can be seen below.
